Pass me the Puppy, we have to test this bleach

Title is from a question on my new Crack, the insidious OkCupid.

A friend of mine introduced me to it, because she is a math geek, and the math involved in OkCupid is admittedly, pretty awesome. Now this girl is a bird watcher, which basically means she takes a lot of life lessons from creatures with central nervous systems smaller than their eyeballs, but I've been ignoring the warning signs of a diseased mind (my own and hers) for years, so this seemed as harmless an activity as any of the others we've shared over the past 7.5 years we've known each other.

What wasn't immediately apparent to me is that it's as addictive as heroin. It's basically WoW where your "character" is YOU and you gain XP by answering questions and tests and can level up--that is, improve the 'completeness' of your profile and the accuracy with which you can be matched to others.

It's insanely fun, and I'm not even actively looking for people to date right now, which means the entire system is essentially frivolous. Listen to me: I'm attempting to become better matched to people about whom I don't care.

Now if you'll excuse me, if I answer another 94 questions my profile will be 82% complete!
